Dr. Jeff would like to officially introduce his “GLP-1 done better program.”
We are excited! At last, GLP-1 meds are available at the affordable price of 99$ or less per month. This is a gamechanger,
and has forced us to reconsider their place in our “Weight Loss Through Wellness Program.” The prices
haven’t dropped yet, but stay tuned as they are about to!
If you have tried and failed using “Ozempic-like” medications in the past, it was likely due to the wrong preparation,
execution, and a lack of understanding about your own “unique” metabolic needs.
While we wait for the official “price drop” date, we have put together a little blog for your consideration.
With the current surge in the use of GLP medications for weight loss, we thought we would add our thoughts on this.
Can the GLP medication help you achieve your weight loss goals? The answer is yes, but the important word is help.
GLP use is not a panacea for weight loss, and you still need to address underlying metabolic issues, diseases and
basic nutritional knowledge.
Dr. Brown will use GLP products as an adjunct in your program. He is concerned with anybody expressing interest in
GLP to understand what it will and will not do toward reaching their weight loss goals. A prescription for GLP should
never be given to you without a clear diet and nutrition plan.
Social Media and the drug manufacturers have done an amazing job promoting GLP-1 use as a quick fix for weight
loss.
It is important to be aware that at present there are no long term-studies on the effects of GLP-1 use for weight loss.
Physicians with experience prescribing these medications have noted in their patients common side effects, including
stomach pain, constipation, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, blurred vision, thyroid tumours, pancreatitis, kidney and gall
bladder problems, fertility issues, as well as rebound weight gain once you discontinue taking the GLP-1 medications.
What they have not made clear is that GLP-1 use can be accompanied by the same metabolic problems associated
with “starvation” diets, including but not limited to severe muscle and lean body mass loss, a decrease in metabolic
rate, hormone and neurotransmitter imbalances and deficiencies, as well as a weakened immune system.
To be truly effective, you need to pair GLPs with a physician who understands the problems and pitfalls associated
with the “typical” GLP-1 diet approach and knows what to do about it.
We have already had a large number of patients who have benefited from our “GLP-1 done better program.” we
anticipate that, with the decreasing costs of “Ozempic-like” medications, many more will want to give it a try.
As always, your overall health, safety, and success remain our primary concern. Reach out to us, we can help!
Together in health
